Will Smith's Oscar-Worthy Car Collection
Will Smith isn't like other celebrities when it comes to his car collection. Rather than flashing boatloads of cash by buying every supercar on Earth, he's been a little more selective and chosen a variety of cars. Sure, there's a fair amount of fast cars in there, but Smith's tastes are also more refined. Let's examine the car collection of one of Hollywood's greatest stars.
Maybach 57S
Like Jay-Z, Will Smith also loves the luxury brand Maybach. We kick off his high-profile car collection with the Maybach 57S, unveiled in 2005. The car features a twin-turbocharged 6.0L V12 engine that produces 604 hp and has a top speed of 171 mph. The Maybach epitomizes luxury: front and rear seat massagers, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a fridge, heated cup holders, and climate control systems.

Maybach has been building cars since 1909, but the 57S is a product of almost a century of innovation. Each Maybach 57S costs about $450,000, but that's hardly surprising given the luxuriousness. If Smith needs to get going in a hurry, then the 57S will do that: It has a 0-60 time of less than five seconds.

Tesla Roadster
Will Smith was buying Teslas before it was cool. Purchased brand-new in 2008, the Roadster was Tesla's first car, selling for about $109,000. Buying a Tesla is just one of the many ways that Smith does his part of the environment. In 2018, he and his son Jaden launched a bottled water company that uses renewable resources for its packaging.

The all-electric first-generation vehicle paved the way for other electric cars that we know and love today. While electric cars have existed for decades, Tesla's Roadster was by far the most advanced and efficient EV of its day. Traveling more than 244 miles on a single charge, its all-electric motors produce the equivalent of 248 hp and it has a top speed of 125 mph.

Rolls-Royce Ghost
Another opulent addition to Smith's garage is the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Powered by a 6.6L V12 engine and delivering 600 hp, it's no wonder Will Smith likes to use the Ghost so much. Designed to compete with the Bentley Flying Spur and Mercedes' luxury S-Class division, the Ghost holds its own in Smith's fleet. He spent over $300,000 on one of the finest luxury cars of the 2010s.

Based on the BMW 7 Series platform, the Ghost also features a massaging front seat, lane departure detection, blind-spot warning systems, rear coach doors, reclining rear seats, and much more. The Ghost is a very popular luxury car among celebrities, with stars like Jay-Z also owning one.
1965 Ford Mustang
The Mustang is one of America's most iconic cars, particularly Smith's bright red 1965 version: a classic look for the Mustang before it modernized. The first-generation Mustang made its way into Smith's garage sometime after Bad Boys (1995). The red Mustang was powered by a 4.3L V8 engine and available as either a convertible, hardtop, or fastback. Smith chose the classic hardtop look. We're betting the Shelby Mustang he drove in I Am Legend (2007) doesn't hold a candle to this old classic.

While Smith doubtlessly loves his 1965 Mustang, at the time of its release, there were serious safety concerns raised. You see, Ford had designed the car so that the top of the gas tank also served as the floor of the trunk. Not great in a rear-end collision. Think fire and explosions. Numerous lawsuits were filed against Ford, with almost every case being settled out of court. It's not known if this design flaw resulted in deaths or injuries.

Bentley Azure
You might be surprised to learn that neither the Ghost nor the Maybach are the most expensive car in Smith's collection—the Bentley Azure is. Another luxury sedan purchased by the star of Bad Boys, the second-generation Azure is powered by a 6.75L Bentley turbocharged V8 engine that produces 450 hp and a top speed of 168 mph.

Unfortunately for Bentley, the Azure wasn't exactly the hit they'd expected it to be. Five years into the project and with just over 1,400 Azures made, the Azure was replaced by the Grand Convertible. The problem that Bentley had was the sheer size of the car: at 210.5 inches long, it was like driving (and parking) a land yacht.

BMW i8
The futuristic-looking BMW i8 was another addition to Smith's garage. His only hybrid, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. Costing approximately $150,000, the i8's price tag, paired with its environmentally-friendly concept, must have been attractive to Smith.

Unfortunately, not everyone shared Smith's enthusiasm for the BMW i8. Criticism came thick and fast, as the car made a "fake engine noise" when you put it into Sport Mode—hardly what you want when you're driving something that's billed as being quiet and eco-friendly. Nevertheless, Smith still loves his i8, though he probably doesn't use it in Sport Mode very often.

2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV
Swapping the low-riders for an ultra-large SUV, Smith's car collection got a bit beefier in 2017 with the addition of Cadillac Escalade ESV. The acronym stands for "Extended Stretch Vehicle" and it's the long-wheelbase version of the traditional Escalade, thanks to a third row of seats. Powered by a 6.2L V8 engine, the Escalade ESV puts out a monstrous 420 hp, enough to get Smith & Co wherever they need to go, in style and with speed.

The extended wheelbase version of the Escalade means that the storage space behind the third row of seating more than doubles from 15 to 39 cubic feet of space. Unfortunately, all of that luxury and storage space didn't stop some users from complaining about transmission failures and the general unreliability of the vehicle.

"The Heat" Motorhome
Will Smith's motorhome is known as "The Heat". It's a two-storey, $2.5 million house-on-wheels, measuring 55-feet long and with 1,200 square feet of living space. There's a bathroom, an office, a professional makeup station, 14 televisions, real leather couches, granite countertops in the kitchen, and all-automatic doors.

Bought in the early 2000s, Smith's motorhome was his home away from home while he filmed The Pursuit Of Happyness (2006) and Men In Black III (2012), and the 22-wheel home is filled with everything you'd need to live for months at a time. It was the first high-profile delivery from Anderson Mobile Estates, an American RV company that caters to the uber-wealthy.

Will Smith's 2007 Shelby Mustang From I Am Legend
We all love classic American muscle. Smith's 2007 Ford Mustang from I Am Legend (2007) was certainly an upgrade on his already-owned 1965 Ford Mustang. Painted "Torch Red" with white racing stripes, the car featured a stock GT500 engine: a 5.4L supercharged V8 that delivered 500 hp. Powerful enough to help Smith escape the zombie hordes in the movie.

Similar in design to the car that Chip Foose made in just a few weeks for Gone In 60 Seconds (2000), the Shelby GT500 that was used in I Am Legend had half a dozen prop cars made of it. But only one was used as the "hero car" for the necessary shots, while the others were sent back to Ford for destruction. Smith's car was put up for auction on Ebay Motors. It was still for sale as of 2020.

The Other Smith Car From I, Robot
Everyone remembers Smith's role in I, Robot (2004). But, did you know that the futuristic-looking car he drove wasn't CGI? It was actually a concept car designed by Audi. Known as the RSQ-1, its use in the film was supposed to be a great advertising opportunity for Audi. Designed with a 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it's uncertain how much horsepower the V8 produced, but a total of three were made for the film.

It Spurred Production Of The R8
Despite the I, Robot car being from the future, it did spur production of the first-generation Audi R8, a mid-engine sports car that was unveiled by Audi in 2006. Similar in a great many ways to the RSQ-1, it's easy to see where Audi got the idea from. It was produced from 2007 to 2024 and featured both V8 and V10 engines.

Looking identical to the RSQ-1 but without the wheel covers and futuristic silvery paint job, the R8 roared into life, producing 602 hp and achieving a top speed of 182 mph. The R8 won multiple Car Of The Year awards in 2008. Unfortunately, Smith wasn't allowed to keep his futuristic interpretation of the R8, nor did he end up buying one thereafter. A missed opportunity, Will.
