These Are The 2025 Cars We're Most Excited About

2024 was a year of growth in the automotive industry, whether it's the super-popularity of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) or the growth of other car companies' electric divisions (that aren't Tesla), personalization is becoming a priority for drivers, and automotive tech is continuing its slow march toward producing more sustainable, economically-friendly automobiles.

With all that said, as we look ahead to 2025, here are the cars we're most excited about.

Toyota 4Runner

It's been nearly 16 years since Toyota updated and upgraded its 4Runner SUV, so it's about time! 2025 will see a fresh upgrade to the favorite SUV among families. Rocking 278 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine (or 326 horsepower if you go with the hybrid version), it's also complete with all the techy features, including a wireless phone charging pad and 14-inch infotainment screen.

Its base model is priced at $43,000 and can be turned into a semi-convertible by rolling down all four windows, the power-operated rear window, and lifting the sunroof. We're excited for an upgrade to the 4Runner that's been nearly 20 years in the making.

Honda Civic Hybrid

The newest iteration of the Civic Hybrid features two electric motors, providing a combined 200 horsepower and can produce an astonishing 49 miles per gallon, making it incredibly fuel efficient. Available as both a hatchback or sedan, the Civic Hybrid comes in Sport or Sport Touring trims, which offer slightly better performance.

The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is available from $29,845.

Ford Maverick Lobo

The Ford Maverick Lobo is an exciting new truck from Ford for the 2025 season. The Lobo didn't hold its powertrain production of 250 horsepower from the old Maverick, but instead produces an adequate (and still fun) 238 horses. Ford imported a seven-speed automatic transmission from its European Ford Focus and shortened the Lobo's wheelbase significantly.

If you're looking for a compact pickup truck that'll do it all without taking up half your driveway, the Lobo might be exactly what you need for 2025. It's available from $36,595

KIA EV3

If you love your KIA and have been searching for an electrified version, consider the 2025 KIA EV3. This subcompact SUV from KIA measures just 169 inches long and seats five comfortably. It'll have a standard front-wheel drive and a single motor available in two iterations: the standard model with a 58.3kWh battery or a long-range variant with an 81.4kWhbattery. Its long-range version will provide approximately 300 miles of range and both batteries will charge in approximately 30 minutes.

The latest EV from KIA begins at $35,000 and is a fine addition to an ever-increasing line of subcompact all-electric cars that may define 2025.
