These Are The 2025 Cars We're Most Excited About
2024 was a year of growth in the automotive industry, whether it's the super-popularity of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) or the growth of other car companies' electric divisions (that aren't Tesla), personalization is becoming a priority for drivers, and automotive tech is continuing its slow march toward producing more sustainable, economically-friendly automobiles.
With all that said, as we look ahead to 2025, here are the cars we're most excited about.
Toyota 4Runner
It's been nearly 16 years since Toyota updated and upgraded its 4Runner SUV, so it's about time! 2025 will see a fresh upgrade to the favorite SUV among families. Rocking 278 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder engine (or 326 horsepower if you go with the hybrid version), it's also complete with all the techy features, including a wireless phone charging pad and 14-inch infotainment screen.
Its base model is priced at $43,000 and can be turned into a semi-convertible by rolling down all four windows, the power-operated rear window, and lifting the sunroof. We're excited for an upgrade to the 4Runner that's been nearly 20 years in the making.
Honda Civic Hybrid
The newest iteration of the Civic Hybrid features two electric motors, providing a combined 200 horsepower and can produce an astonishing 49 miles per gallon, making it incredibly fuel efficient. Available as both a hatchback or sedan, the Civic Hybrid comes in Sport or Sport Touring trims, which offer slightly better performance.
The 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is available from $29,845.
Ford Maverick Lobo
The Ford Maverick Lobo is an exciting new truck from Ford for the 2025 season. The Lobo didn't hold its powertrain production of 250 horsepower from the old Maverick, but instead produces an adequate (and still fun) 238 horses. Ford imported a seven-speed automatic transmission from its European Ford Focus and shortened the Lobo's wheelbase significantly.
If you're looking for a compact pickup truck that'll do it all without taking up half your driveway, the Lobo might be exactly what you need for 2025. It's available from $36,595.
KIA EV3
If you love your KIA and have been searching for an electrified version, consider the 2025 KIA EV3. This subcompact SUV from KIA measures just 169 inches long and seats five comfortably. It'll have a standard front-wheel drive and a single motor available in two iterations: the standard model with a 58.3kWh battery or a long-range variant with an 81.4kWh battery. Its long-range version will provide approximately 300 miles of range and both batteries will charge in approximately 30 minutes.
The latest EV from KIA begins at $35,000 and is a fine addition to an ever-increasing line of subcompact all-electric cars that may define 2025.
Lucid Gravity
This huge luxury SUV that's all-electric is taking the automotive world by storm. It's brand new from Lucid Motors (out of Newark, California), a new company that's produced one electric model so far—the Lucid Air sedan. The Gravity SUV will be its second model and will seat seven passengers, and has an astonishing range of 440 miles on a single charge.
Powered by a pair of electric motors that produce the equivalent of 828 horsepower and with 120 cubic feet of cargo capacity, the Lucid Gravity is highly anticipated in the luxury car market and starts at $94,900.
Dodge Charger Daytona
Billed as the "next generation Charger", the Dodge Charger Daytona will be one of the most exciting muscle cars of 2025, rivaled by a certain Ford that we'll cover later. It's the world's only electric muscle car and while petrolheads may nay-say about the idea of an electric muscle car, this thing will do 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. For power, it produces 670 horsepower from its twin motors and a 100kWh battery.
It also offers regenerative braking and MSRPs at $59,595. You can also have a "Scat Pack Model"—featuring more power for $73,190.
VW ID Buzz
For those born in the 1980s, the VW ID Buzz will either fill you with nostalgia, or with rage that VW dared to mess with the iconic VW Bus. But, that's what they've done with the 2025 VW ID Buzz, a microbus that's powered by an electric motor (producing 282 horsepower)—or two, if you get the upgraded version (producing 335 horsepower). It will do 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds and will do a not-impressive-but-it's-a-microbus 231 miles per charge.
You can join the beehive for a not cheap $61,545.
Porsche 911 Hybrid
The Porsche 911 is an iconic motor from the German manufacturer. The 911 Hybrid will be their second hybrid model after the 2024 success of the Porsche Carrera 911 Hybrid. Known as the 911 Hybrid GTS T-Hybrid, it features an all-new powertrain composed of an electric-assisted turbocharger. It produces 338 horsepower and is available as either a coupe or convertible.
Of course, being a brand new Porsche, it'll set you back a fair bit: $122,095 to be precise, but that's not as expensive as one American supercar on our list.
BMW M5 Touring
The BMW M5 Touring will finally be released in the United States in 2025, following the success of Audi's wagon that came Stateside last year. The BMW M5 Touring has an all-electric 4.4L V8 engine that does 0-60 in just 3.6 seconds. Not only is it insanely fast, it's also a hatchback providing an excellent 58 cubic feet of storage space.
The M5 Touring is perfect for those who want a powerful, do-it-all hatchback with enough seating for five. It MSRPs at $122,675, which is only $2,000 more than the sedan version, but that's pennies if you really need the space.
Land Rover Defender OCTA
2025 seems to be the automotive year where manufacturers are redesigning classics. Designed for the ultimate off-road experience, Land Rover hasn't sacrificed that in designing the OCTA (short for octahedron), with its 20-inch wheels as standard, or a 22-inch wheel offering that raises the top speed from 130 mph to 155 mph. It features a lift kit and 33-inch tires. It also comes with a 4.4L V8 mild hybrid engine producing 626 horsepower.
If your 2025 summer is going to be filled with off-road adventures without breaking the bank in fuel, the Defender OCTA is your best bet. It'll cost you $153,475, but you can't put a price on fun, or so they say.
Dodge Ram 1500 RHO
Dodge's newest pickup doesn't quite have the zip of the hugely popular TRX, but the 1500 RHO is a highly respectable truck with a focus on off-road performance. Sticking with the classic body of the Dodge Ram 1500, but replacing the TRX's supercharged V8 with a twin-turbo inline-six that produces 540 horsepower, it will do 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds.
If you're looking for a spacious truck that's capable of being a workhorse during the week and an off-road toy on the weekends, then the new Ram 1500 RHO fits the bill. It's also affordable at $71,990 MSRP.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
This mid-engine reimagining of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has Corvette fanboys and girls extremely excited. It has a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,064 horsepower (yes, over 1,000 horses), ceramic-carbon brakes, new wheel designs, and three new color options: Competition Yellow, Hysteria Purple, and Sebring Orange. It also features customizable seat belt colors.
Pricing is still yet to be unveiled, but we expect the newest Corvette to begin at around $180,000 MSRP for the base model.
Ford Mustang GTD
Here's that other American muscle reinvention we were talking about: The Ford Mustang GTD. Based on a clay model of the Ford Mustang GT3 (from which the CEO garnered inspiration for the GTD), this model isn't simply another Ford Mustang. Oh no, no, it has a supercharged 5.2L V8 rather than the naturally-aspirated engine you're used to. It also features an enormous rear spoiler.
The Ford Mustang GTD will set you back an astonishing $325,000. So, you know, if you're a millionaire that's into supercars, then this is the Ford Mustang for you.
Cadillac Solei
The Cadillac Solei is a luxury concept car that was unveiled by Cadillac earlier this year and is slated for release in 2025. The stunning low-riding convertible comes with four seats, gorgeous wood-laden trim, and a Manila Cream paint job. The Solei took heavy inspiration from the Celestiq electric vehicle and features the same electric drivetrain. There's even an ice-bucket in the center console in the back along with two crystal glasses.
Luxury abound in the Solei—and it comes at a luxury price tag of $340,000.
Lamborghini Temerario
Whatever Porsche can do, Lamborghini can also do, as is evidenced by the Temerario. They've taken one of their famous 4L V8 engines that powered the Huracán and a lightweight aluminum skin that covers three electric engines, a world first. With one mounted between the turbocharger and the engine and the other two on each front wheel, they combine for a stunning 907 horsepower. They also allow the Temerario to do 0-60 in just 2.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 213 mph.
This pace-setting extraordinario of a supercar will set you back $290,000.
Cadillac Escalade IQ
The Cadillac Escalade IQ is a full-size SUV with an electric motor that pushes the boundaries for Caddies. Going the distance, the Escalade IQ can travel 460 miles on a single charge, and charges at a rate of 100 miles every 10 minutes on a DC Fast Charger. Performance-wise, this SUV covers 0-60 in under five seconds and produces 750 horsepower.
With a gorgeous exterior and interior, this luxury SUV also offers driver-assistance (with self-driving options) and can be yours for $129,990.
Chevrolet Corvette SUV
There's three words you thought you'd never see together, eh? The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV is one of a number of vehicles that Chevrolet are creating under a new sub-brand. It's a five-seater that has a performance focus. While details are still sketchy, we anticipate that the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV will come with either a twin-turbo V6 or a 6.2L V8 engine.
For a price range, you can expect the new Corvette SUVs to set you back between $60,000 and $80,000.
Genesis GV90
The Genesis GV90 is a brand new electric SUV from Genesis—honing in on the luxury SUV market, the GV90 is a replacement for the GV80 sedan and the GV70 SUV. It's theorized that the GV90 will have two electric motors, one on each axle, providing an all-wheel drive car that'll put out an equivalent of almost 500 horsepower.
It's expected that the Genesis GV90 will cost between $100,000 and $120,000.
Lexus Electrified Sport
It doesn't quite have an official name yet, but the Lexus Electrified Sport is Lexus' first electric supercar that's debuting in 2025. Packed with a solid-state battery and electric motors, it's supposed to have a range of 430 miles—pretty good for a car that'll do 0-60 in under two seconds and is, after all, a performance-based supercar.
It's expected that the Lexus Electrified Sport will begin at around $100,000.
Mazda CX-70
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 is slated to be an inline six-cylinder mild hybrid that offers just two rows of seating (for four/five) rather than the CX-90's three rows. It's a luxurious, refined SUV that's plug-in capable with a blacked-out interior trim, larger wheels and Amazon Alexa-enabled infotainment system. There's also an underfloor storage compartment in the cargo area, and it offers a fuel economy of 22 mpg.
The CX-70 starts at $41,900 with various trims and options taking that price up to $57,405.
Mercedes-Benz EQG
The all-new for 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQG is Mercedes' latest entry into their lineup of G-Class SUVs, and this one's all-electric. The EQG features four motors combining for a total of 597 horsepower, each mounted to one of the EQG's wheels, allowing for individual control for those difficult off-road situations.
The Mercedes-Benz EQG costs $162,650 and will go from 0-60 in just 4.6 seconds. It's a luxurious off-roader, but it's all-electric motor is somewhat revolutionary in the off-road space. Watch out, Jeep.
Nissan Maxima
This version of the Nissan Maxima is an all-electric sedan with a sporty kick. Powered by a single electric motor, it's anticipated that the 2025 Nissan Maxima will likely produce somewhere between 389 and 489 horsepower.
Not much else is known about the newest Maxima, but it's expected to cost between $44,000 and $61,000.
Porsche 718 Boxster
Good Lord, this Porsche might be one of their best offerings in years. The 2025 Porsche 718 Boxster is an all-around pleasure to drive. The soft-top Boxster shares a powertrain with the Porsche Cayman, featuring four engine models offering between 300 and 493 horsepower from either a flat-four or flat-six engine. It can reach 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and has a combined fuel economy of 23 mpg.
This green machine will set you back a cool $76,895.
Toyota MR2
The Toyota MR2 was a legendary car of the 1980s—and now they're bringing it back for 2025, reportedly. Toyota's revamped MR2 is speculation at this point, but it could reportedly have a 2L turbocharged engine, producing 400 horsepower. It will also likely be all-wheel drive.
No price points are available at this stage of the game, but we're excited to see if the MR2 redux becomes a reality.
Chevrolet Corvette Zora
The Chevrolet Corvette Zora is another Chevy supercar that we're excited for next year. The Chevrolet Corvette Zora is said to combine the best parts of their E-Ray EV's 1.1 kWh battery with the huge horsepower of the ZR1's V8 engine. It's rumored to have all-wheel drive and a staggering output of at least 1,220 horsepower.
The pricing is still under wraps, but you can expect the Corvette Zora to cost at least $200,000.
Ferrari's First Electric Vehicle
The electric vehicle game is so strong that even Ferrari is getting in on the act. They're expected to release the Ferrari F80 Hypercar in 2025. Details are sparse, but its price tag is said to be about $500,000—a staggering price tag for what we're certain will be a staggering new EV.
A Ford Expedition Refresh
The 2025 Ford Expedition is due next year and it's going to be a big gulp of refreshment for those who love their current Expedition. If you're keen on Ford Expeditions, then you'll love what's on-spec for the 2025 Expedition: a twin-turbo 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, producing about 400 horsepower. While Ford is still mum on the retail price of the new Expedition, expect it to cost around $55,000 to $60,000 for the base model.
Toyota FJ Cruiser
While the 2025 Toyota FJ Cruiser was just a tease from Toyota last year, it's possible that we could see the FJ Cruiser released in 2025. It's equipped with a turbo-charged four-cylinder V6 hybrid engine that produces 326 horsepower, and has a four-wheel drive powertrain with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.
The new FJ Cruiser is priced at $56,450 as a base MSRP.
Fisker Automotive Goes Bankrupt
While there are many cars to be excited about on our list, one that's definitely not going to be there is the proposed Fisker Ocean, a luxurious electric SUV produced by Fisker Automotive, based out of California. That's because they went bankrupt. When it began in 2007, Henrik Fisker, a Danish automobile designer took hundreds of millions of dollars in investments, including government funds. Then, the cars began missing production deadlines and only sold 2,000 models worldwide of their flagship EV SUV, the Fisker Ocean.
The government reportedly lost $139 million in investments from Fisker, and the company filed for bankruptcy and folded last year.
