Introduced at the London Motor Show in October of 1960, this was pretty much a lightened and improved DB4 GT. The plan was to make 25 of them. But due to less demand than expected, only 19 were produced.

Jaguar produced the D-Type between 1954-57—specifically to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car was part of the tragic 1955 race which saw the most devastating crash in racing history. While some teams pulled out after that, Jaguar continued the race and won it with a D-Type car.
