When Money Can Buy Everything Except Good Taste
Celebrities certainly have expensive tastes, from exotic animals to interesting trinkets, but what about the most bizarre celebrity cars? Some, they'll have bought as collector's items. Others, they'll probably drive around in. Let's explore some of the most bizarre celebrity car purchases ever.
Justin Bieber's Fisker Karma
Fisker is a car company based in California dedicated to designing hybrids and all-electric vehicles and selling them for a pretty penny. Produced between 2011 and 2012, the Fisker Karma was a plug-in hybrid with an overall range of 51 km (32 miles) in all-electric mode.

It was a bizarre purchase for the Biebs because the Fisker is not a great car. Its battery performance is awful, and the interior is cramped. It was one of the last cars Fisker Automotive produced before going bankrupt in 2013.

George Clooney's Commuter Tango
Before Elon Musk was the nation's favorite darling or villain, father-and-son duo Rick and Bryan Woodbury designed all-electric cars, such as the ultra-narrow commuter known as the Tango. It's 39 inches wide and looks awful, but it is all-electric and quirky. Unfortunately, only 10 Commuter Tangos were ever produced, and the company folded in the late 2000s.

George Clooney was the first person to receive a Commuter Tango. Despite the company folding, there was renewed interest in the car about a year ago, with rumors swirling online that the company was returning. However, as one person said, "How many flips could I get on a gentle turn?", pointing to the serious design concerns surrounding the Tango.

Pope Francis' Renault 4
The Pope's Renault 4 was gifted to him by Father Renzo Zocca not long after Francis became The Holy Father—it's a bizarre thing to give to a man who can only travel in his Popemobile during public appearances.

Pope Francis & Cars
Being God's representative on Earth comes with a few perks, including a Lamborghini Huracan, which he was gifted in 2017. It was adorned with gold trim and white paint, like his papal cassock. The Pope auctioned off the car, donating proceeds to three charities. The Pope does not own any vehicles himself. Although he receives many cars as gifts, they're almost always auctioned off.

Putting Ludacris Miles On A 1993 Acura Legend
For hip-hop legend Ludacris, you might think his favorite car would be fast and fancy. Not so. The star has a favorite car: the 1993 Acura Legend reportedly has over 225,000 miles and has been in Ludacris' garage since 1999. Honda even took the old Legend and restored it to its factory specifications.

While Ludacris may have just been a young man in 1999 when he acquired the Legend, this mid-size luxury sedan led to the creation of two new car brands: Infiniti (Nissan) and Lexus (Toyota), who saw that they needed to compete with Honda in the luxury car market.

Will.i.am's Custom DeLorean
Only a celebrity could transform a classic car from a classic movie, like a DeLorean, into a bizarre monstrosity. Will.i.am partnered with West Coast Customs to create a "DeLorean," which more closely resembled an all-white fiberglass body draped over a Ford Mustang-style body. It did have the gull-wing doors, so there is that. Still, it's a bizarre take on a classic.
Will.i.am's Custom DeLorean (Cont'd)
Will.i.am is no stranger to customized cars. He already has a modified Tesla, a custom hot rod, a 1958 VW Beetle, and the most recent one: the will.i.AMG, a partnership between the Black Eyed Peas frontman and Mercedes. That is a customized supercar resembling a Ford Mustang, similar to the custom DeLorean.

The President's Subaru BRAT
Long before he became President of the United States, Ronald Reagan owned a ranch called Rancho Del Cielo, or Ranch Of Heaven. He used the ever-reliable Subaru BRAT, a coupé utility vehicle that was half-SUV and half-truck, to get around his ranch. Upon entering politics, Reagan couldn't be seen driving a Japanese vehicle (it was the 1980s, after all), so he gave up his bizarre Subie.

BRAT stands for "Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter", and it was a nifty utility truck producing a small 94 hp from a 1.8L EA-81 engine; it was perfect for Ronnie Reagan's uses around the farm. Despite abandoning his Subie when he entered politics, members of the Young America Foundation restored the vehicle, and it now lies at Reagan's ranch.

Sonny & Cher's Bizarre Mustangs
Sonny and Cher may be one of music's most iconic duos, but their taste in cars might be somewhat lacking. In the mid-1980s, they'd sent a pair of Ford Mustangs to legendary car conversion expert George Barris. Unfortunately, Barris' work on Sonny & Cher's Mustangs made them bizarre. The square headlights and the furry seat upholstery are on the inside. Just...Just no.
Kendra Sommer, The Untold Story Of Sonny & Cher's Custom Mustangs
Sonny & Cher's Bizarre Mustangs (Cont'd)
Sonny and Cher's cars, although not exactly appealing to Mustang purists, did symbolize the pair of rockers perfectly: Sonny's had a light brown/gold color palette, while Cher's was bright pink. Under the hood, Sonny's was a V8 producing 229 hp, while Cher's produced 200 hp from a twin-barrel carburetor. They were both three-speed automatic transmissions.

Daniel Radcliffe's Fiat Punto
Couldn't you magic up a cool car when you're a wizard? You'd think so. But that wasn't the case for Daniel Radcliffe; with his $23 million paycheck from Harry Potter in hand on his eighteenth birthday, he headed straight for his local Fiat dealership and purchased a then brand-new Fiat Punto. Reportedly, he chose the Punto because it was economical and environmentally friendly.

You might have guessed that the Punto was the cheapest car in Daniel Radcliffe's collection: It cost about $3,000 new when he was 18. The tiny Fiat produces 120 hp and is powered by a 1.4L turbocharged engine. Radcliffe also has a couple of more "ordinary" cars: a BMW M5 and a BMW X7, but (of course) he has a "just-for-fun vehicle, too—a Lamborghini Huracan.

No Jailhouse Rockin' In Elvis' Messerschmitt 200
While Elvis was famous for his cars, one of the most curious in his collection was the Messerschmitt 200. This tiny German car looked more like the cockpit of a WWII aircraft than a car. Its seats were designed to be in line, and a small motorcycle engine powered it.

The Messerschmitt 200 (Cont'd)
As Messerschmitt was barred from producing aircraft at the end of the Second World War, they had to pivot their operations to something else: They designed the Messerschmitt, a motorcycle car in the middle of an identity crisis involving an aircraft. The first vehicle was the Kabienroller 175, or KR175. "Kabienroller" translates to "scooter with cabin". This one-doored, 10-horsepower car certainly turned heads, no matter if the King was driving it or not.

Jay Leno's EcoJet By GM
A custom EcoJet car built by General Motors for comedian Jay Leno reportedly started life as a sketch on a napkin. One of Leno's many motoring dreams was to build a jet-powered car, so he contacted GM for help. The project took a few years but was completed by 2008 and appeared on Jay Leno's Garage.

While we don't know how many of these highly experimental concepts GM has produced, we know that Leno's EcoJet car runs on biofuel: a mixture of soybean oil and kerosene. It is powered by an LTS101 gas turbine (like that used in helicopters), which provides a stunning 650 hp. The EcoJet is an exciting blueprint for the future of cars.

Justin Bieber's Rolls-Royce Wraith
Justin Bieber's Rolls-Royce Wraith was a custom car designed for him by West Coast Customs. It was originally a concept drawing done by Rolls Royce in the mid-2010s, and it was never intended to go any further than the paper. West Coast Customs and Justin Bieber created an absolute monstrosity. It looks like something that should levitate off the ground, for Pete's sake.

Fortunately, Justin Bieber's poor taste wasn't to everyone's liking. Most Rolls Royce Wraiths feature hinged doors and produce a stunning 623 hp. Wraith owners like this full-sized luxury sedan for its performance without compromising the class associated with Rolls-Royce.

Shaquille O'Neal's Custom Jeep Wrangler
Standing at 7'1" makes reaching for the top shelf of something in the grocery store much easier, but not so if you want to buy a car. West Coast Customs had to custom-make everything in Shaq's Jeep Wrangler. Taking the body of a regular Jeep Wrangler, West Coast Customs started by fusing the front and rear doors to make one door, then changing the front and rear seats so Shaq would have ample leg room.

We don't know if Shaq still has his custom Jeep Wrangler or if he replaced the car that was first shown to the public in 2013. However, the engineering modifications necessary so Shaq could fit in weren't the only upgrades. West Coast Custom also upgraded Shaq's Jeep with ultra-bright aftermarket headlights and custom bumpers.

The Rock's Plymouth
Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's garage is filled with exotic cars, but this Plymouth Prowler is bizarre: a convertible version of a PT Cruiser, with tiny wheels in the front and massive ones in the back. The Rock frequently drove this around on the set of Michael Bay's Pain And Gain (2013).

Did you know that the Rock's Plymouth car wasn't just a prop he used? It was a gift from director Michael Bay for working on the movie. It's highly customized, with a silver-black paint job, custom rims, and work done under the hood.

Kanye West's Sherp Off-Road Monsters
Known as "The Sherp," this all-terrain car has 23 inches of ground clearance, can climb obstacles over three feet tall, and can travel just under 4 mph on water, which it can float on. Intended for hardcore off-roaders, we aren't sure if Ye gets to use his extensive collection that much, but it does come with a 60L fuel tank, so he's good for a while.

Kanye owns nine Sherp all-terrain vehicles, keeping them all at his ranch in Wyoming (because that's the only place he has the space to drive the behemoths). Costing $119,000 each, the Sherp isn't even the craziest vehicle that Ye owns. He's also got a high-powered tank.

Ashton Kutcher's Singular Classic Car
While many American celebrities embrace the classic car world, ol' Kelso seems quite the opposite. He owns just one American classic: the Chevrolet Impala SS. Its 3.8L V6 engine produces 305 hp, and we're sure Kutcher enjoys driving it, even if it's his only classic.

Guy Fieri's Behemoth Chevrolet Kodiak C4500
Guy Fieri might be one of America's most famous restauranteurs, but we're not sure what he needs for a behemoth pickup truck like the Chevrolet Kodiak C4500. This beast of a pickup is all workhorse with a top speed of 75 mph, a huge bed for storage, and a towing capacity of between 16,000 and 17,500 pounds made possible by the massive 8.1L engine. If Fieri ever wanted to open a food truck, he's certainly got the room.

Maybe Guy Fieri was taking a leaf out of Ashton Kutcher's book (Kutcher owns an International CXT) when he bought the Chevy Kodiak C4500. He probably doesn't use it to carry passengers despite its surprising capacity of up to five passengers. Still, Chevrolet seems to have thought of everything in his ultra-heavy-duty workhorse.

Jason Momoa's Earthroamer XV-LT
For the longest time, Jason Momoa didn't own a home. But he did own an Earthroamer XV-LT. Built on the chassis of a Ford F-550 (a monster of a truck in its own right), the Earthroamer is an off-road camping vehicle with everything you'd ever need to live out of your car.

Tom Cruise's Race Car
In Days of Thunder (1990), a young Tom Cruise played a NASCAR driver, where he reportedly met his future wife, Nicole Kidman, for the first time. Although he may have played a NASCAR racer, Cruise was already an accomplished racer, having competed in the Sports Car Club of America championship. He would race in a 1988 Nissan 300ZX.

We aren't sure whether Cruise's boyish good looks or racing prowess caught Kidman's attention, but the car itself was sold for two generations, and sales to the United States of the street-legal ZX model were halted in 1996. Luckily, the production team for Days of Thunder would get their hands on one, packed with a V6 turbocharged engine that produced 227 hp. It's said that Cruise, being an aggressive driver (surprised, anyone?) nearly crashed several production cars during the making of Days of Thunder.

Post Malone's "Normal" 2019 Subaru WRX
Post Malone's car collection is anything but "normal," but the most normal of his vehicles is a 2019 Subaru WRX. For a man with Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, and even a Bugatti Chiron, the 2019 WRX seems like a strange choice.
