Featuring
While all cars will get you from point A to point B, the experience you have between those two points can be quite different depending on the kind of car you have. And when it comes to the most luxurious of automobiles, there are some features they offer that you will not believe.
Anti-Paparazzi Curtains
No one's crowding around our car trying to get a photograph of us. But if you're rich enough to afford a car in the vein of a Rolls-Royce Phantom or Bentley Mulsanne—you might just be a paparazzi magnet. Which is why these high-end vehicles offer backseat curtains to hide yourself from the outside world. Although it will cost you an extra $15,000 or so.
Stars
You know how, when you were a kid, you put those glow in the dark stars on your ceiling? Well, this isn't anything like that. What Rolls-Royce is offering with its Starlight Headlining is a complete, immersive starry night experience with 1,900 stars created using "hundreds of hand-placed fiber-optic lights....[in a]...bespoke graphic pattern that can shine in any color or configuration".
Refrigerator
While most of us are super psyched to find built-in cup holders in the backseat pull-down console, luxury car owners don't just have a place to put their cups, but stuff to fill their cups with as well. Depending on the vehicle, you can spend an extra $1,000-$10,000 to have a small refrigerator installed between the back seats.
Aston Martin Transponder watch
Locking and unlocking your car from your watch is cool. But imagine doing it from your very own designer watch that comes included with your Aston Martin.
Netflix
Tesla owners know what we're talking about. The large screens in the popular electric vehicles offer more than just music and maps—you can also watch Netflix on them (when you're parked, of course).
Massage
Did you know that every Mercedes-Maybach S Class now comes standard with massage programs built into the seats?
Umbrellas
If you're thinking that anyone spending around $400,000 on a Rolls-Royce Phantom should at least get a couple umbrellas for free—well, Rolls-Royce agrees. Every Phantom comes with monogrammed umbrellas stashed inside special compartments built into the doors. The compartments come with drainage holes and air circulation so that your wet umbrella will be dry the next time you need it.
Soft-Close/Power Doors
Being rich means never having to open and close your car doors the same way anymore. Almost all luxury cars have the option of soft-close doors or automatic doors that open and close with the push of a button. In fact, the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class offer soft-close as standard these days.
Custom Interiors
Yes, most cars come with a few options for interior colors and design. But what we're talking about here with high-end cars like Rolls-Royce or Aston Martin is total interior customization. If you can think of a color, they can make it happen. Want embroidered headrests? Consider it done. What about the upholstery?
Wool & Hides
Forget about basic leather—high-end car buyers can have real hides sewn in by hand. And while you're at it, why not throw in some lambswool rugs as well?
Granite
Yes, granite. For an extra $60,000, Mercedes Maybach owners can select the basic granite trimmings package to add some extra luxury to their interior. There is a "luxury" package as well, but the price for that one isn't made public.
Self-Leveling Center Caps
What good is owning a Rolls-Royce if, when you drive it, the center caps with the beautiful RR logo aren't always in the proper upright position for everyone to appreciate? Well, that isn't a worry a Rolls-Royce driver needs to have because of the car's self-leveling center caps.
Rear Seat Comfort
Many cars offer climate control for the rear seats and even the ability to make some basic adjustments. But the folks at Bentley have taken rear seat comfort to a whole new luxurious level in their Bentayga with Seat Auto Climate and Postural Adjust luxury car features.
The climate control takes into account temperature and humidity and adjusts to the perfect balance of warmth and coolness. The system will also subtly alter the air pressure as needed across the seat to reduce fatigue and enhance circulation on longer rides.
Rear Seat 8-Inch Touchscreen Controller
Range Rover has taken backseat passengers into consideration as well, with the 8-inch removable touchscreen they have added into the rear middle console.
Rotating Dashboard
This cool $6,500 add-on from Bentley, on their Flying Spur and Continental GT vehicles, provides a dashboard that can rotate between three different options with the simple press of a button.
Picnic Tables
And not just tables. The Bentley Bentayga, for example, offers a complete picnic set. We're talking utensils, glassware, and a slide-out bench to tailgate. All for just an extra $27,500.
Pop-Up Tweeters
As any true audiophile knows, tweeters can make all the difference in completing the perfect sound system—and for an extra $6,300 you can outfit your Aston Martin with Bang & Olufsen tweeters that pop up out of your dash. A perfect compliment to the already impressive 3D Advanced Sound System.
Scent System
For most of us, the only "scent system" we use in our cars is the pine tree hanging from our rearview mirror. That's because most of us don't own one of the select Mercedes vehicles that offer an Air Balance package replete with an air cleansing system and electronically controlled scent-releasing of various fragrant aromas. You can also control and set the schedule and strength.
"Gentleman Function"
Be a gentleman and adjust the passenger seat for your date before she gets into the car with BMW's "Gentleman Function" button.
Emergency Escape System
Not only does the Range Rover Sentinel come heavily armored, with all the safety features someone who owns an armored car would want, but they also have the option of adding an emergency escape through the trunk. And it'll just set you back an extra $400,000 or so.
Heated And Cooled Cup Holders
The Aurus Senat offers plenty of luxurious upgrades—but our favorite has to be the cup holders that offer cooling and heating with the press of a button. The ones in our car just hold our cups. How lame is that?
Biometric Secure Storage
Have some valuables you want to leave in your car? Well, forget the glove compartment, or in the trunk under a rather conspicuous blanket. For an extra $3,000 or so, the Bentley Bentayga will add a biometric storage unit in the middle console between the two front seats.
Genius I Cufflinks
So, it isn't technically a car feature—but for almost $400, you can get some Mercedes-Maybach monogrammed Genius I carbon-fiber cufflinks. For about $500, you can get a belt.
BMW Gesture Control
Turn up the volume, lower the temperature, answer a phone call—do it all with a flick of the wrist thanks to BMW gesture control.
Passenger Display
In the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS, passengers aren't second-class citizens—they are just as important and worthy of a luxurious experience. Which is why they have included a beautiful 10.9-inch display on the passenger side of the dash, with all the media, navigation, and comfort settings visible and accessible.
Bespoke Mechanical Clock
We know what you're thinking: It's just a clock on the dashboard of your Bentley Bentayga, what's so luxurious about that? Well, what if we told you that this bespoke mechanical Mulliner Tourbillon clock by Breitling is available in solid white or rose gold and is decorated with eight diamond indexes? And then, what if we told you that when it was released, it cost an extra $208,800?
Yup, this dashboard clock was almost the same price as the entire car. Now that's luxury!
