A Fierce Driver With A Stunning Car Collection
Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton has more than 100 F1 victories and has earned a place on the podium over 200 times. He’s known as a “notoriously fierce driver”. It’s obvious that British driver Hamilton loves racing—and his car collection is proof that cars are his thing.
He’s An Expert
Hamilton admits that cars are one thing he knows. When interviewed by GQ in 2020, he admitted that “’I don’t know anything about wine. I don’t know a huge amount about art. But what I do know is cars, and I’m very particular about them’". And particular he is.
His Cars Are Worth Millions
Hamilton’s collection boasts a huge number of vehicles and is reportedly worth £13 million. He admits that he rarely drives any of them—mostly due to his “climate conscious” attitude. Ranging from Mercedes to Ferraris, his vehicles are housed in garages between his two homes in Monaco and Los Angeles.
Pagani Zonda 760 LH
Before selling it in 2021, Hamilton purchased the Pagani Zonda 760 LH for £1.6 million. And, yes, the LH at the end of the model’s moniker is for “Lewis Hamilton”. The model was fabricated “bespoke” to Hamilton’s requests. It is the only one in existence.
Pagani Zonda 760 LH
Hamilton had Pagani create a purple exterior and interior. He also had this vehicle specially designed and fitted with a manual gearbox. Still, he loathes the way the Pagani Zonda 760 LH handles, claiming it sounds great on the track but “handling-wise, it’s the worst”.
Pagani Zonda 760 LH
Hamilton sold the Pagani Zonda 760 LH to producer Mark Radcliffe. Radcliffe ended up crashing it in a tunnel in Wales. Dashcam footage showed that no one was injured in the accident that ruined the roadster.
Hamilton And Mercedes
In 2013, Hamilton ended his 15-year association with McLaren and signed on with Mercedes. Mercedes sprung up that year as the “dominant force”. For three seasons, Hamilton and his partner Nico Rosberg took 51 of 59 Grand Prix victories. Hamilton loves Mercedes and its creations—it’s no wonder he has many in his personal collection.
Mercedes-AMG Project One
Hamilton was one of 275 people to order one of the Mercedes-AMG Project Ones. These vehicles, delivered in 2022, proved to be test models for plug-in hybrids. Hamilton was intrigued with the idea of sustainable fuels and powertrains and helped test the prototypes.
Mercedes-AMG Project One
For about £2 million, Hamilton bought one Mercedes-AMG Project One for himself and another for his father. With a top speed of 220 mph, it’s not a surprise that Hamilton’s former Mercedes teammate, Nico Rosberg, also nabbed one of the rare machines.
Mercedes-AMG SLS Black
Hamilton has owned several Mercedes models. One of these is the AMG SLS Black which is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 with 620 bhp. It can hit 60 mph in just three seconds from a standing start. The “AMG” stands for original founders, Aufrecht and Melcher. Großaspach was the place where Aufrecht was born.

Mercedes Benz SL 65
Previously, Hamilton also had a Mercedes Benz SL 65 among his treasures. With a curb weight of 1,870 kg and 661 bhp, it’s not shocking that this coupe has a top speed of 199 mph. It’s known for its “pure-bred motor sports technology”.
Mercedes AMG GT R
Hamilton also owns a Mercedes AMG GT R. This particular one was Formula 1’s safety car from 2018 to 2020. Hamilton claims that this car is “the most ‘normal’” one in his collection.
Mercedes AMG G63 6×6
The Mercedes AMG G63 6x6 is a little different than other cars that Hamilton has owned. It is a truck—and may be one of the cheapest vehicles in Hamilton’s collection. He purchased the off-roading pickup that boasts six wheels for a mere half a million pounds.
Mercedes-Maybach S600
The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is yet another Mercedes in Hamilton’s collection. This sleek model is known for its luxurious look and feel as well as its “silky smooth” engine. It’s no wonder Hamilton loves this roadster as its 6.0-litre V12 engine gives it an enormous amount of power.
Hamilton And Ferrari
Very recently, in 2025, Hamilton agreed to a contract with Ferrari. He conceded to being with the team until the end of 2026. Hamilton has long loved the Ferrari brand and has several in his collection.
Ferrari LaFerrari
Since he was a boy, Hamilton dreamed about owning a red Ferrari. He obtained not only one but three of his dream vehicles. Between 2013 and 2016, Ferrari produced only 499 of the LeFerraris. Hamilton managed to acquire one.
Ferrari LaFerrari
Even his then-sponsor, Mercedes, couldn’t stop him from owning one of their competitor’s vehicles. Hamilton had his Ferrari LaFerrari painted red, making sure it was one-of-a-kind. With a top speed of 217 mph, it is one of the fastest cars that Hamilton owns.
Ferrari 599 SA Aperta
In 2010, for Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary, Ferrari produced 80 versions of the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta. The fact that Hamilton managed to add one to his garage is spectacular. In its entire existence, only 599 total were ever produced. Hamilton spent £2.2 million on his model.
LaFerrari Aperta
Hamilton shelled out £1.4 million to add Ferrari’s Aperta model to his garage. When Ferrari created this electric model, they were consumed with maintaining the “coupe’s signature speed”. Engineers were successful. They were also triumphant in the fabrication of their unique Kinetic Energy Recovery System which they tested on track cars and integrated into their electric road automobiles.
1966 Shelby Cobra 427
The 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 is considered a classic. This first-class model is one of the most expensive vehicles in Hamilton’s possession. The price tag was £4 million.

Hamilton keeps his 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 at his Los Angeles garage. Hamilton is not shy in driving the model. He has frequently been seen zipping around Los Angeles with his previous girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger. Despite regular use, the car continues to appreciate in value.
Shelby Cobra MK III
Hamilton has a penchant for red roadsters. His 1966 Shelby Cobra MK III is a stylish-looking vehicle with, you guessed it, a cherry-colored exterior and black leather interior. One of the modifications Hamilton had made involved changing the wheels to competition style.

Hamilton’s Shelby Cobra MK III is not a common make or model. There were only 343 of these vehicles produced. In commonly shared photos, he appears to have a black one as well.

1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
If you watched the film Gone in 60 Seconds, you may recognize Hamilton’s 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Hamilton’s roadster is a replica of the film’s car, Eleanor. The seven-time F1 World Champion acquired the car for £1.1 million.

After buying the 1967 classic, Hamilton had work done to customize it. He also had body work done on it by a custom shop to ensure it was in absolutely immaculate condition.
Hamilton And McLaren
Since he was a child, Hamilton had dreamed of racing. At age five, he won several competitions against adults with a radio-controlled car. Then, at age six, he started karting. In 1998, he was chosen to participate in the McLaren-Mercedes Young Driver Programme.
Hamilton And McLaren
His aspiration to compete in Formula 1 came true in 2007 when he started racing for McLaren. Hamilton was the first Black driver to compete in these races. He set several records as a rookie and won four Grand Prix.
McLaren P1
Lewis Hamilton’s name was associated with McLaren. Although he cut ties with the company in 2012, he is still a fan of McLaren vehicles. In 2015, he purchased a McLaren P1 for £1.2 million.
McLaren P1
Hamilton’s McLaren P1 is an astonishing shade of electric blue. Atypically, this car has an automatic transmission. It boasts a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, twinned with an electric motor, and produces 903 bhp–enough to hit a top speed of 217 mph and 0 to 60 mph in under 2.7 seconds.
1995 McLaren F1
When it first came out, the McLaren F1 was one of the fastest vehicles in the world. The model fits one person, has a 6.1-liter V12 engine, and can easily exceed 240 mph. Hamilton was spotted zipping around Beverly Hills in his silver model.

Originally owned by Bonhams, Hamilton bought the McLaren at an auction in 2017. He paid a “staggering amount” for the car that was one of 64 produced. It was added to his collection for £12.3 million. It even acknowledges his previous racing number as it has the chassis number 044.

Hamilton’s Other Vehicles
Hamilton likely has more cars than he shares about publicly. He enjoys having other choices of machines for when “he feels like keeping a lower profile”. Besides roadsters, he also owns recreational vehicles.
Hamilton’s Wheeled Toys
Besides cars, Hamilton has some other fun toys he enjoys. He loves his Honda CRF450RX Motocross bike. It possesses an extremely lightweight chassis, and its low-range torque means high power in mud and rocky terrain. Hamilton has been known to whiz around the hills of California on it.

Hamilton’s Wheeled Toys
Lewis Hamilton has a great fondness for off-road vehicles. He also endorses and uses non-gas machines, so his electric Maverick X3 dune buggy fits his lifestyle and values well. It can reach speeds of 89 mph.
Hamilton’s Electric Obsession
Hamilton publicly discusses and examines environmental issues. He is considered an activist and upholds issues such as the protection of the rainforest. It is understandable that he chooses to drive electric vehicles as often as possible.

Hamilton’s Daily Driver
Hamilton’s choice of daily driver is not one of the extremely fancy or expensive vehicles in his collection. His everyday driving takes place in a Mercedes EDQ SUV. This vehicle cost him about £65,000—making it one of his cheapest sets of wheels.

Hamilton’s Daily Drive
Despite having all of these fancy cars, Lewis Hamilton’s doesn’t drive as much as you would expect. His French driver’s license was suspended in 2007 when he was pulled over for a speed of 122 mph. On top of this, he claims to be “terrified” of driving his vehicles on normal roads.

Hamilton’s Fear Of The Road
Remarkably, Hamilton drives as little as possible. He told Vanity Fair that he is stressed out by everyday driving in the south of France. "This is now stressful for me. This road is crazy. So much going on here. Look, we're on these roads, anything can happen”.
How Hamilton Affords His Cars
Lewis Hamilton has a vast array of interests and businesses. He is known as quite influential in the world of fashion and film production and has played guitar on Christina Aguilera’s song “Pipe”, under the alias XNDA. Recently, he became one of the owners of the NFL Denver Broncos. In 2022, his net worth was £300 million.
