Gordon Ramsay's Car Collection Is The Chef's Kiss

Gordon Ramsay's Ferraris Are The Caviar Of Cars

Sure, you all know Gordon Ramsay for his culinary genius, *winning* personality, and love of choice words. But did you know that his car collection is almost as colorful as his language? Featuring British, Italian, and German autos, let's explore the car collection of one of the world's best chefs.

Rss Thumb - Ramsay Cars

Ferrari F355 GTS

The Ferrari F355 GTS is Ramsay's first of many Ferraris in his collection. Available since the late 1990s, it's highly likely that Ramsay purchased the 355 GTS brand new when the car became available. Building on the success of the Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, his yellow GTS featured a hardtop roof that was convertible, with storage behind the seats.

Ferrari produced 2,577 GTS models, which were initially built with a six-speed manual transmission, before producing 529 cars with an F1-style transmission. Like the Berlinetta upon which the F355 GTS is based, it contained an F1-style gearbox management system, becoming the first ever road car equipped with such a system.

Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage

Next in Ramsay's garage is a British classic: the Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage. One of the first modern British supercars, Ramsay had to get his hands on one, for an average cost of around $300,000 when brand-new. Famously used in James Bond, the V12 Vantage is a legendary car driven by one of Britain's most legendary chefs.

Deriving its enormous power from 5.9L V12 engine, the V12 Vantage was a special edition unleashed on British roads in 1999. Producing 420 hp and a top speed of 184 mph, Ramsay probably uses the DB7 when he wants to ride in style.

McLaren Senna

Named after one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna, the McLaren Senna is one of a couple of McLarens to grace Ramsay's garage. Ramsay says driving the Senna is like "the fastest rollercoaster you've ever been on". And it's no wonder, with a 4.0L turbocharged engine screaming out a shocking 789 hp, it goes from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 218 mph.

It's no wonder that Gordon Ramsay loves getting behind the wheel of the Senna, which cost him $1.2 million—its namesake is someone he considers one of his personal heroes. Admiring Senna's focus and determination to win, Ramsay would frequent Formula One races at the Silverstone racecourse, which was five minutes from his childhood home in Daventry, Northamptonshire, England.

Porsche 918 Spyder

Another wonderful German car in Ramsay's collection is the Porsche 918 Spyder. It's the only Porsche that Ramsay owns, and it's also his only hybrid supercar, with production beginning in 2013 on the PHEV, Porsche stamped their claim to the future-proof supercar market early on.

Powered by a mid-mounted V8 engine that produces 599 hp, complemented beautifully by two electric motors that produce 210KW of energy, or an equivalent horsepower rating of 282, the 918 Spyder has a staggering 875 hp and an amazing top speed of 214 mph. The 918 all-electric had a range of just 12 miles, though, indicative of how 2013 electric motor technology was in its infancy.

Ferrari Monza SP2

Quite apart from the Porsche 918 is Ramsay's next car: the Ferrari Monza SP2. Inspired by previous designs like the 750 Monza and 250 Testarossa, the SP2 is the two-seater version of the Monza SP. This means Gordon can have a passenger when he's screaming down the road at 186 mph top speed, or accelerating from 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds.

Interestingly, the Ferrari Monza doesn't have a windshield and has small scissor doors, rather than traditional doors. Instead, Ferrari relies on a patented system known as a "Virtual Windshield", intended to divert wind away from the driver, which uses an airflow system through the front grille, rather than a traditional glass windshield.

BAC Mono

Briggs Automotive Company are the geniuses behind Gordon Ramsay's "Mono", a single-seater sports car, designed by the British manufacturer. The BAC Mono is Ramsay's track-bound plaything, built by a combination of graphene and carbon fiber to keep weight down, without sacrificing performance. Ramsay likely takes the BAC Mono out when he wants to go for a lap around Silverstone.

Originally designed with a 2.3L engine, the BAC Mono was upgraded significantly in 2015 to a 2.5L engine that produced 305 hp and a top speed of 174 mph. It was the GQ Track Day Car Of The Year in 2012 and 2011 Top Gear Car Of The Year.

Land Rover Defender 110

Another British classic in Gordon Ramsay's garage is the Land Rover Defender 110. Heavily customized with 37-inch tires, a roll cage, toughened suspension and rally dampers, the car reportedly cost $316,000 and is one of the world's most expensive Land Rovers. Ramsay bought the car at an auction in 2018.

This particular Land Rover Defender was one of seven surviving Defenders from the production of the James Bond movie, Spectre (2015). The license plate of the vehicle reads: "P100 SPY. Spectre, 007". A true piece of British cinematic history owned by one of the most animated personalities

Ford GT

Ramsay's love of track racing is exemplified in the stunning Ford GT. A reincarnation of the Le Mans-winning Ford GT40, which Ford designed to compete with Ferrari in the 1960s, the second-generation sports car produces a blistering 650 hp from a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It will go from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds. When he's at his home in America, Ramsay takes time to go to the track and whip around in the GT.

Of course Ramsay's turned the success of his MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen shows into plenty of dollars in his pocket. Good thing, too, because the Ford GT (second generation) reportedly cost $400,000.

McLaren 675 LT

The McLaren 675 LT is another of Ramsay's track-based supercars. The "LT" at the end stands for "Long Tail", which is based on the 1997 McLaren F1 GTR. With only 500 cars ever entering production, Ramsay snapping up one means he's one of an elite few that own this lightweight supercar.

Built for speed, the McLaren 675 LT is powered by a 3.8L V8 engine, producing 688 hp, using a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox. Ramsay's McLaren 675 LT will travel from 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 205 mph.

Ferrari 308

The Ferrari 308 was Gordon Ramsay's first sports car. You may recognize it from Magnum PI (1980), with Tom Selleck's character traveling around in one frequently—having watched Magnum PI as a youngster, the Ferrari 308 always stood out to Ramsay, who claims Selleck's character was one of the reasons he bought one.

Despite being released in the mid-1970s and only produced until 1985, the Ferrari 308 is one of the old classics. Its 2.9L V8 engine produced 230 hp, with a top speed of 150 mph. Not slow by 1970s standards.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta

Ferrari only produced 210 of their LaFerrari Aperta and Gordon Ramsay owns one of them. Ferrari's own hybrid supercar, built between 2013 and 2018, was powered by a 6.3L V12 and one electric motor. Ramsay's Ferrari has a top speed of 217 mph and can travel from 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta (Cont'd)

The Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta was a hugely limited production, with just 200 cars being sold by Ferrari. It came with a removable carbon fiber hardtop and a removable soft top, to create a convertible. Ramsay was invited by Ferrari to purchase one—an invitation we don't think he needed much time to think about.

Ferrari F430

The Ferrari F430 is considered one of the greatest Ferraris of the 21st century, being produced from 2004 till 2009, doubtlessly providing Ramsay with the consummate Ferrari driving experience. With a 4.3L V8 engine, the F430 isn't Ferrari's quickest offering, but it is a classic.

Ferrari F430 (Cont'd)

Although being almost 20 years old, the F430 packed a huge punch for its time—with a top speed of 196 mph, travelling from 0 to 60 in just 3.6 seconds, the F430's V8 pumps out 483 hp. Several future iterations of the F430, the Spider and Scuderia, would increase the horsepower rating to 512 hp and give it a larger V12 engine.

Ferrari 550 Maranello

Another classic Ferrari in Gordon Ramsay's garage is the 550 Maranello, a car that's slowly becoming popular among collectors. Its manual transmission and V12 engine make it a highly desirable collector's Ferrari. Built from 1996 to 2002, the Tour De France blue Maranello was reportedly a gift from Ramsay's wife, Tana, after he won his third Michelin Star.

Ferrari 550 Maranello (Cont'd)

Ferrari only produced 559 Maranellos, replacing them with the 575M Maranello in 2003, which was a tweak on the 550, rather than a new build. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," as they say. Gordon Ramsay's Maranello came with a 5.5L V12 that produced 478 hp and had a top speed of 199 mph. In October of 1998, Ferrari set three new world records at a race track in Ohio with the Maranello, including driving for an hour with an average speed of 184 mph.

Ferrari 488 GTB

Gordon Ramsay clearly has a thing for Ferraris, exemplified with yet another purchase of a Ferrari 488 GTB, produced between 2015 and 2019. Powered by a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the 488 GTB had a top speed of 205 mph and could go from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds.

Like Chef Ramsay, the Ferrari 488 GTB won a slew of honors in 2015 (the year of its release), including Top Gear magazine's 2015 Car Of The Year. It was also MotorTrend's 2017 Car Of The Year.

Ferrari F12tdf

The Ferrari F12tdf—standing for "Tour De France", which honors the achievements made by Ferrari in the 50s and 60s road race known as the Tour De France—is the next Ferrari in Ramsay's stacked Italian garage. Mirrored by the F12 Berlinetta, the F12tdf's 6.3L V12 engine produces a staggering 769 hp. Ramsay's F12tdf is one of just 799 produced by Ferrari.

Although most buyers, Ramsay included, must have been very happy with the Ferrari F12tdf (that sort of looks like a Lotus Exige), the car did have some serious issues. Mostly, customers reported problems with the software that controlled the rear-wheel steering. Additionally, customers reported rough shifting and other transmission issues

Ferrari 812 Superfast

Honestly, where does Ramsay keep all of these Ferraris? He does have five homes, so one could imagine he's got plenty of garage space—he'll need it for this car. The Ferrari 812 Superfast was a replacement for Ramsay's F12tdf. Powered by a 6.5L V12 that produced 789 hp, the 812 Superfast was the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine in a production car in 2018.

Perhaps to Ferrari's detriment, given the direction that other companies were going in at the time, the 812 Superfast was not fitted with a turbocharger, nor hybrid technology. Despite this, the 812 Superfast definitely lived up to its moniker—with a flying top speed of 211 mph, roaring from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds.

Porsche GT2

Another track-based car in Ramsay's extraordinary collection is the Porsche GT2. Based on the 911 Turbo, the GT2 was produced between 1993 and 2009. Ramsay's GT2 is mostly used for a round-the-track whip and comes in a silver-black color combination. It reportedly cost him around $300,000

To make it track-focused, Porsche took the 911 Turbo and stripped much of the interior, in addition to replacing the all-wheel drive system of the 911 Turbo with a rear-wheel drive system in the GT2. It also received a gigantic power upgrade from the 911 Turbo, featuring a 3.8L flat six that produces 691 hp and an incredible top speed of 218 mph

Aston Martin Superleggera

Another wonderful Aston Martin on our list, although a far cry from the DB7 V12 Vantage that we covered above, is the DBS Superleggera, a replacement for the Vanquish. A grand tourer, the Superleggera was produced between 2018 and 2024. Ramsay likely uses his to get around the track at Silverstone. The Supereleggera was featured in No Time To Die (2021), and we imagine that Ramsay likely bought one to add to his collection of British classics.

Aston Martin Superleggera (Cont'd)

In terms of performance, the Superleggera features a 5.3L turbocharged V12 engine, which produces 714 hp and has an astonishing top speed of 211 mph. The Superleggera can also go from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds. Although, you may want to mind the speed bumps—because of the low profile of the car, there have been several incidents of it being caught on Britain's speed bump-heavy roads, damaging the undercarriage. We hope, for the council's sake, that Ramsay's Superleggera hasn't been damaged!

Ferrari California T Spyder

Another Ferrari (but not, shockingly), and the last in Ramsay's garage, is the Ferrari California T Spyder. Reviving the name used in the 1950s on the legendary Ferrari 250 California, the California T was produced between 2014 and 2019, utilizing a new, 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Producing 553 hp, the California T might be Ramsay's favorite Ferrari cruiser.

Ferrari California T Spyder (Cont'd)

Just because it's a grand touring car, doesn't mean Ferrari skimped on the performance—that brand-new engine pushes the California T Spyder to a top speed of 196 mph, and the company took steps to reduce its emissions by 15%. It was also the first Ferrari car to feature Apple CarPlay. We're not sure if Ramsay has an iPhone or if he's an Android user, but he'd have appreciated the fine ingenuity of the California T regardless.

Ferrari Portofino

And last but not least is the Ferrari Portofino, a grand touring convertible produced by Ferrari between 2017 and 2023. It's named after the Italian village of Portofino, where the car was unveiled at invitation-only events—we're positive Ramsay wasn't the celebrity chef for the event. A successor to the California T, the Portofino features a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 592 hp and rocketing to a top speed of 199 mph.

Ferrari Portofino (Cont'd)

The Ferrari Portofino is just the latest addition to Gordon Ramsay's amazing fleet of cars, which contains over 20 supercars. Its overall value is said to stretch into the tens of millions of dollars.
